Simonton Windows Adds Tax Credit Packages
|
Simonton announced it will offer Energy Tax Credit Glass Packages, a move the manufacturer hopes will make it easy for pros and suppliers to order windows that qualify for the new $1,500 federal tax credit.
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment act signed in February, homeowners can earn a tax credit of 30% of the purchase price of qualifying energy-efficient upgrades such as windows and high-efficiency waters heaters up to $1,500 per household. (See EcoHome’s coverage here.) Windows in Simonton’s ETC packages meet the tax credit’s energy ratings requirement of a U-factor of 0.30 or less and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.30 or less.
Simonton began rehiring workers last week due to increasing volume, which the company partially attributes to increased homeowner interest in the tax credit.
The offerings include the ETC Starter 366 glass package, with LoE3-366 glass, an Intercept Spacer System, and argon gas fill; the ETC Super Solar glass package with ProSolar Soft Coat Low E glass, the Super Spacer system, and argon gas; and the ETC Super 366 glass package with LoE3-366 glass, a Super Spacer System, and argon gas.
